Hey guys and welcome back to Peculiar Belgian.
For today’s post, I will be reviewing some of the Colourpop Super Shock shadows and one of their Loose Pigments in collaboration with Kathleen Lights. This intro kinda sucks but I’ve just woken up, haha.
During the last year, I have found myself more interested in all things sparkly. Especially, eye toppers. My love for eye toppers began with the Stila Glitter & Glow set that I received as a gift a while ago. The effect of the sparkliness was so nice and made the eyeshadow look a bit more special. So, this past few months, I have been on the look out for everything that could serve as a beautiful eyeshadow topper. In January, I saw that Colourpop was having a sale and decided to grab some stuff. Including these beautiful eyeshadows and a loose pigment.
Super Shock Shadows ‘Ladybird’ & ‘Mighty Morphin’
The super shock shadows from Colourpop were extremely popular a few years ago and even till today, the range is really well-liked by people. I never thought about picking up some of them because they’re singles ya know. But lately, singles have been all the jazz for me. I’m tired of palettes. I browsed the Colourpop website and searched for some swatches of shades and eventually decided to go with Ladybird and Mighty Morphin.
Ladybird is a beautiful ivory shade, almost a creamy white, with multidimensional silver glitter. Mighty Morphin is a stunning orangy nude with pink reflect. This is a really stunning shade, colour wise. Both of these shadows are similar in formula. The formula is very creamy and it has the bouncy texture that they’re known for. The pigmentation and shine is the biggest positive of this product tho. This is so incredibly shiny! I love it! You can apply them as a sheer topper to only bring the sparkliness to the eyes or you can build them up to be extremely shiny. I really enjoy this formula and the colours are stunning.
Loose Pigment ‘The Maiden’
I never thought I would buy this product. Never. When this collaboration with Kathleen Lights first came out, I wasn’t really interested. What’s there to love about shadows that aren’t pressed, have massive fall out and are just messy alltogether? Boy, I was wrong. Yes, this product has fall out and is quite messy. However, I love the effect it gives to a look and the way it gives it something extra.
This loose pigment doesn’t have a lot of base pigment. It doesn’t have coverage, is what I mean. It mostly gives you insane sparkle and not a lot of colour. To be honest, that’s what I really like about this product. It’s sparkly goodness and makes for the most amazing topper. The Maiden is a warm-toned white with multidimensional shimmers, from pink to blue and gold. It seems to reflect the rainbow and it doesn’t change the colour underneath it. I love this little thing and wanted to link it, but apparently all of the loose pigments on Colourpop’s website have disappeared? Weird.
That’s it for today’s post and I hope you enjoyed it like always. Let me know if you have some of these Super Shock Shadows or even the loose pigments? I know I have been using them a ton and I really love them!
Lots of love and see you next time!
