Sugarpill Fun Size Mini Color Palette Review & Swatches

Hey loves,
Today’s post is very exciting. Sugarpill is known to have great quality eyeshadows and recently they launched an eyeshadow palette! Let’s review this bad boy and see if it’s any good.

I bought this palette back in September (before the no-buy) because of the uniqueness of the shades. I really felt like the shades were not something that I already owned and the packaging got me the most. I also thought it was rather affordable in comparison to their individuals. I already knew that I loved Sugarpill’s eyeshadow so I decided to go for it. This palette retails for โ‚ฌ25,49 and is available on Boozyshop (EU), Ulta (US) and Love Makeup (UK).

The palette is one of the most adorable things I have ever seen, but I might be biased because I love cats A LOT. I am devoted to cats. I’m not the biggest fan of games but I love cats so I’ll take it ๐Ÿ˜›ย  Sugarpill’s individual eyeshadow are normally huuuge but this size is more like the standard individual eyeshadows which I don’t mind. The square palette is very compact and small easy for travelling. You get a heart-shaped mirror on the inside with hearts above it (sort of like amount of lives in a game) and Level up your makeup on the bottom. So original, quirky and fun!

You get nine shades with each 0,8 grams. The shade names are absolutely adorable because they all refer to certain things in a video game such as the shade ‘Continue’ or ‘Game Over’. The shade ‘Rage Quite’ is my favourite because relatable lol, haha. I think the name is so funny, haha. All of the shades are matte so no shimmers inside this baby.

The formula is something that we need to discuss. I would like to give you a little tip if you are planning to buy this palette. Do not set your eye base! The very first time I used these shadows, I was kind of disappointed because the eyeshadows were not pigmented and just blended into nothing. I quickly found the culprit though. The formula of the Fun Size palette is a bit weird. They’re not dusty in the sense that they will create a lot of kick-up in the palette but at the same time, they’re a little dry in texture. The combination of a dry, dusty base and a dry eyeshadow doesn’t really work, so make sure your base is a little tacky or set it very lightly. It makes a world of difference. The shades were much more pigmented and blended out much better without losing the intensity of the shadows. Once I started using them again with a different base, I was obsessed. These shades are so unique to my makeup collection.

I particularly adore the shade ‘Continue’ which is a pukey sort of mustard yellow. It’s very unique and I own nothing close to it. ‘Cheat Code’ and ‘8-Bit’ are also very extraordinary. One is a sea-foamy blueish-green and the other is a beautiful dusky periwinkle. I own quite a few periwinkles but not with this type of undertone. The shade ‘Twitch’ is heavenly. Divine. Spectacular. Pastel green but neon at the same time. The pigment is not as intense as the other shade, being pastel and a lot of white base will do that to a shadow, but you can build it up to be quite intense. ‘High Score’ is another unique shade because it’s on the edge of being a pastel, but not quite. This shade is very intense in my humble opinion. ‘Game Over’ is the true red that I was looking for. A red shade that doesn’t turn pink on the eyes. Absolutely amazing.

That’s it for today’s review of the new Sugarpill Fun Size Mini Color Palette. I really love this palette and the uniqueness of it. I was so excited whilst buying it and also very impressed afterwards. I just love the shades in this palette. Just don’t set your base haha!
Lots of love and see you next time!
