Colourpop Uh-Huh Honey | Review & Swatches ๐Ÿฏ

Hello loves,
Today I want to introduce you to a yellow and mellow palette by Colourpop. The Uh-Huh Honey palette looks sweet and sticky but is it actually good? Let’s find out!

The packaging is pretty simple. It’s a 9 pan palette that fits into the palm of your hand. It has a nice mirror on the inside. Unfortunately, it’s made of plastic which is not recyclable and thus not environmentally conscious. You can remove the shadows and put them in an empty z-palette, which is what I did with the shade Palooza (more on that later). The Uh-Huh Honey palette contains 5 mattes, 3 metallics, and 1 Pressed Glitter. The palette retails for $12 and is available on Colourpop.com

The matte shades are quite nicely pigmented. They don’t oxidize on the eyes or get patchy. They blend very well and don’t need much building up. There isn’t a lot of fall-out but the shades are slightly dusty, so you will get a bit of kick up. I wish there was a slightly darker shade because Buzz Kill isn’t really able to give depth and dimension to any look that you create.ย  And I can only imagine it doing nothing on deeper complexions when it’s already barely giving depth on my skin tone.

The shimmers are really lovely. They’re very creamy and are noticeably vibrant. You can apply them dry and they will pop on the eyes. I’m really in love with the shade ‘Sun Burst’. It’s light yellow gold with a slight blue reflection. So gorgeous. All the other shades are also quite lovely but Sun Burst is the star. In my humble opinion.

The only big negative I have to say about this palette is the glitter shade ‘Palooza’. As mentioned before, I have removed the shade for the palette and placed it in an individual empty z-palette. I don’t really like glitter any more. At least, not when it has really big chunky particles in it. Glitter gets everywhere, is hard to remove and you could possibly go blind of you’re not careful. Also, the lack of warning on the palette and the website is concerning. Colourpop should give people a proper warning that this shade is potentially dangerous. It’s pretty and all, but I don’t know. I’ll use it on the face and stuff but not near my eyes.

Overall, despite the glitter, I really enjoy this palette. I’m in love with the look I created and I love yellow eyeshadow. This will be a nice supplementary palette when I need different versions of yellow. I really enjoy the yellow mustard shades in this palette. Those were some shades that I didn’t have yet. I also really love the look I created with this palette! But I have already mentioned that ๐Ÿ˜›
Lots of love and see you soon!
