Hello my lovely earthlings,
Today is another review day. I was a bit absent last week due to sickness and mental health issues, but today I feel motivated and ready to rumble! Let me introduce you to the glossy goodness that is the Kevyn Aucoin Glass Glow Face.
The Kevyn Aucoin Glass Glow face is a face and body illuminator. According to the brand, this product is lightweight, hydrating and a bridge between highlighting and skincare. It’s a glow-gel formula that can be used on the body and face to create a youthful-looking radiance with an on-trend, glassy finish. It comes in three shades and I purchased the lightest one, Crystal Clear. The Kevyn Aucoin Glass Glow Face retails for €28 on Beauty Bay and Cult Beauty.
The packaging is really simple but practical. The tube looks like a squeezy tube but it has a pump. The pump is really practical and dispenses the exact amount that you want. I already have owned some products from Kevyn Aucoin in the past and they all have a black to the burgundy ombre effect which looks very sophisticated. You get 20 ml and I guarantee you, you don’t need a lot. I think this product will last me a good 5-6 months.
The formula is quite tricky and I definitely experienced some issues when first using this Glass Glow Face. Influencers online seem to advertise this product as a primer and I can assure you that this is not a primer. It’s definitely a liquid illuminator. You don’t want to spread this all over the face. Believe me. The first time I used this, I applied a thick layer all over my face. Such a mistake. It felt heavy and suffocating. After that, I applied it in the areas where I wanted some glow or glossiness. Truly, the result was much better and I was really impressed by it.
Once you get the hang of this product, it’s truly beautiful. It is the most stunning glossy effect I have seen in my life. My face looks hydrated and not highlighted if that makes any sense haha. It’s definitely a product that gives you a glow and a hydrated look but don’t expect too much hydration from this. It’s definitely not a moisturiser. The consistency is quite thick and dense, as mentioned before, so you don’t need a lot of product. It spreads out quite far and I would say I need half a pump for all the areas that I want to highlight.
The colour of this Glass Glow Face is quite unique and I decided to add little clips of the swatches to show what I mean (see below). The base of the Crystal Clear is clear. It doesn’t have a base colour and thus no white cast on the skin. It’s translucent and I think that might make it a universally flattering shade. The glow, apart from the clear glossy consistency, comes from blue micro shimmers in the product. It’s so finely milled and so reflective that you can hardly notice them on the face. But the effect it gives is stunning and highly luminous. Unblended it looks like blue shimmer but when you blend the product it definitely looks like glass. Glass Glow Face is definitely a good name for this product.
All in all, I think this product is excellent to add some glow to the face without necessarily having to moisturise it. The effect is unlike anything I have ever seen and I think I will repurchase the Pink version once I have finished this one. I really love this product. Don’t hesitate to ask some questions if you have any and that’s it for today!
Lots of love and see you next time!
