Sugarpill Eyeshadows Buttercupcake, 2AM & Velocity Review

Hey loves,
I don’t know about you but Sugarpill eyeshadows are a product that I have been wanting to buy and try since forever. Hyped up by every bright colour lover and finally, in my possession, I present to you: Buttercupcake, 2AM and Velocity!

If you are subscribed to my youtube channel and if you have watched my latest ‘First Impressions’, then you might already have seen a preview of these shadows. Today, however, is the big day where I give you a thorough review and my final thoughts. By now, you guys already know how much I love my bright colours. However, good colourful eyeshadows are extremely hard to find. Usually, the colours end up being patchy, chalky and just not pigmented. After watching tons of reviews, I decided to buy three shades of the Sugarpill eyeshadows. They were also on sale and therefore quite a bargain!

Sugarpill eyeshadows come in two forms of packaging. You can buy the Pro Pan Pressed Eyeshadows which are individually packaged and have a metallic bottom. This makes it easy to customise your preferable palette since the Pro Pan’s are individual pans. They’re also the cheapest option, retailing for €9,50 and the one with the most options to chose from, namely 31 shades. The second option is the Pressed Eyeshadows, which retails for €10,75. The difference between the Pro Pan and the Pressed Eyeshadows is that the Pressed Eyeshadows has a plastic case as packaging. The shade options of the Pressed Eyeshadows are slightly less than the Pro Pan’s, with only 23 shades. I bought one shade from the Pro Pan Pressed eyeshadows (Buttercupcake) and two shades from the Pressed Eyeshadows (2AM & Velocity).

Pro Pan Pressed Eyeshadow: Buttercupcake
Buttercupcake is probably their most well-known shade in their entire collection. Rumours have it that this eyeshadow is the best yellow shade on the market right now.  Both yellows palettes and other individuals cannot beat this yellow shade from Sugarpill. Or so they say. Let’s find out!

Unfortunately, I actually lost the packaging of Buttercupcake so I won’t be able to show it to you. However, it was just as cute as the external packaging of the Pressed Eyeshadows! Buttercupcake is an individual pan with a weight of 3,5g, which is massive. I swear to mother nature that these pans are huge in comparison to my ABH, MAC and Nabla individuals. Twice the size. On the back of the pan, you can find additional information about the product. Buttercupcake-sugarpill-eyeshadow-review (2)

Buttercupcake, in my honest opinion, is indeed the best yellow on the market. It’s very saturated, it’s pigmented and not chalky in the slightest. The colour payoff is one of the best I have seen in a yellow shade and the blendability is also really nice. It does have the slightest bit of fallout but nothing too significant. Buttercupcake has quickly become my favourite shade in the universe, haha. Buttercupcake is also vegan and cruelty-free!

Pressed Eyeshadow: Velocity and 2AM
A vivid blue and a purple shade were still missing in my collection but Sugarpill quickly fixed that problem when I bought Velocity and 2AM. Velocity and 2AM are both Pressed Eyeshadows, meaning that they are encased in some sort of packaging. This time it consists of a plastic case which is still quite sturdy and has a very good open/close system. Sugarpill is also printed on the front of the packaging as well as a little drawing of a heart. Very cute if I do say so myself.

Velocity
Velocity is a vibrant matte royal blue shade which is even more pigmented than Buttercupcake. Probably because of the balance between the white base and the pigment of the eyeshadow. The formula of Velocity feels soft to the touch and blends like a dream. I was expecting some patchiness but this didn’t occur no matter which look I created. Velocity has minimal fallout. Velocity is cruelty-free and vegan!

2AM
2AM is described as a matte purple and I have to disagree with that statement. 2AM is more like a satin formula due to the blue shimmer particles that can be found in the eyeshadow. It’s very hard to see in pictures but it is very much visible in real life. I found 2AM to be my least favourite shade due to the shimmer particles and also the opacity of the shade. It was slightly patchy whenever I used this shade in the crease, outer corner or on the lid. Something which is to be expected from a difficult colour such as a purple. The patchiness did not occur when I used it underneath the lower lashline. 2AM is still very pigmented for a purple but needs a bit more time to build up. Likewise with the blendability. Last but not least, 2AM had the most fallout of the three shades. 2AM is also cruelty-free!sugarpill-2AM-eyeshadow-review (1)sugarpill-2AM-eyeshadow-review (2)

That was quite a long review to write and definitely picture heavy too. I must admit that Buttercupcake and Velocity by Sugarpill have quickly won the way to my heart. I love them dearly and will continue to use them regularly in future makeup looks. I’m still on the fence about 2AM. I don’t really like the shimmer and the patchiness so I might take a look at Poison Plum for Sugarpill, which is another purple and hopefully better. Other then that, I’m really happy with my purchase from Sugarpill and I cannot wait to purchase more!

The Sugarpill Pro Pan Pressed Eyeshadows retails for €9,50 on Beautybay, whilst the Pressed Eyeshadows retails for €10,75 on Beautybay.

What do you think about these shades? Do you own anything by Sugarpill?
Lots of love and see you next time!
