LA Girl Pro Coverage Foundation in Fair + Lightener

Hello loves, today I have not one but two foundation reviews. One of an actual foundation, the other one is a lightener. If you want to know what I think of them, click more!

I bought the foundation on an impulse. My skin was feeling immensely dry and I knew from watching many Youtube videos that this foundation is supposed to be luminous and dewy. The foundation claims to be weightless, hydrating and long wearing with a medium to full coverage. It’s paraben free and can be used up to six months after opening. The packaging is quite simple but handy. It’s clear, so you can see how much you have left and even better, it has a pump!  The bottle is made out of plastic.

It’s medium and medium for me is way too dark, haha.  Thank goodness that I knew this before ordering because I look like a pumpkin when wearing this on its own. It has a nice neutral undertone which slightly leans towards the yellow side. Perfect undertone, wrong colour! Make these lighter, please.

My solution to that problem was the Foundation lightener that they have in the same foundation line. I bought this and I must say that it does do its job! It gives you control until you have the colour that you desire and does this without altering the undertone or structure of the foundation. I did try it with several other foundations. Thumbs up for this one!

Now to the actual (altered) foundation. It has a quite liquid formulation. It’s not very whipped or thick which is great, so it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. The finish looks very natural on my skin. It looks illuminating and dewy without it being overboard. You have to powder it though, no matter what skin type you have. I have a dry skin type and with this foundation, it feels like I have oily skin and is very tacky to the touch. It has a nice medium coverage but does not cover everything. I would not say it is buildable because after a while you get that inevitable cakey feeling. Down below, you can see four pictures.

The longevity is good but not great. After a while, it starts to fade on my nose and other certain areas like my T-zone. It also bunches up together and separates after a few hours on my forehead and cheeks. It’s not noticeable from far but definitely up close. After a few hours, the tacky feeling returns but touching up with powder gives no problems.

Overall, I do really like this foundation. My gut feeling is telling me to try this out in winter when my skin is extremely dry and see what it does but so far it has survived the summer without melting off! I like the dewy finish without looking greasy but I just wish I didn’t have to buy a lightener to make it my colour. Fair should be light and not medium. I bought my foundation on Boozyshop and the lightener as well.
Lots of love and see you next time!

    1. I do too! It has been so easy to buy foundations since I have the white one. I can just alter any shade that is too dark! Thank you very much! 😁
